School Profile
Barnes Elementary is the oldest elementary school in Owasso.  We have a beautiful state-of-the-art facility that will accommodate 750 students.  Barnes currently has approximately 660 students in Pre-K through 5th.  Barnes has a wide range of programs including ELD (English Language Development) special education programs as well as housing one of the Gifted and Talented Programs for the district.  We take our school motto, “every child counts” seriously and provide a curriculum that will provide a framework for academic growth. We are a school wide Title I program for the upcoming school year.  All of our teachers and assistants are highly qualified. Barnes practices Great Expectations and life principles and student leadership are stressed daily.  Building successful students who are not only good citizens, but who exhibit leadership and problem-solving skills is a critical part of our school culture.

Title I

Title I is a federally funded program designed to provide intensive support for students who are performing below grade level in reading and/or math.  Federal guidelines require that Title I programs are available in schools within the district with the greatest level of low-income families.  The Title I program at Barnes offers individualized small group instruction, additional teaching materials which supplement regular instruction, a literacy coach, an additional reading specialist as well as, two reading assistants.

Barnes Elementary School operates a

Title I School Wide Program.
